Our evening walk will start at Acropolis metro station from where you will meet your local wine expert. The walk will take you through the Koukaki neighborhood and its streets full of restaurants, shops and most importantly great hidden wine bars. Here you will learn about the Greek wine culture and tradition while you enjoy your first glasses of the day. Greece is currently living its wine renaissance after more than 4000 years of constant wine production and you will be able to experience it. In every stop you will explore the aromas and flavors of indigenous varieties, some of them having connection all the way to ancient Greece. Crisp whites, food friendly reds, summery roses, there’s something for all wine lovers. What’s better than spending the night visiting wine bars and finding new wonderful wines that you love? After the walk you will know Athens much more and you will be able to order and buy much better Greek wine. A wonderfully intimate evening with a fabulous guide who was a bonafide wine pro and also a local culture enthusiast who made us fall even more in love with Greece. Manolis organized wine and food pairings at some of Athen's local wine bars along a walk through funky, upbeat neighborhoods. Manolis took us on a 3 hour walking and food tour of Athens. He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and overall a great guide. He took us around Plaka giving us many opportunities to try authentic Greek cuisine while telling us the story and culture behind the food we were trying. His passion for food and Greece was apparent the whole tour. The food tour was the highlight of our stay in Athens, we left full, happy, and with a greater appreciation for the Greek people and culture.

Emmanouil’s tour is like going out with a great friend versus an actual tour. He’s incredibly personable and very knowledgeable about food and beer. The spots he took us to were diverse, and the views were beautiful at sunset. He was a great story teller and I learned so much about Greece.
